Localizing your documentation is about more than just translating words. It’s about producing multilingual content that retains the professional layout formatting of the originals, so that your brand is presented consistently across all territories.

The key to achieving this is being able to handle all document types and different file formats effectively.

CPSL has the tools to meet this challenge. Our layout formatting team contains experts in a huge array of desktop publishing, graphics editing and multimedia applications. We use these tools to professionally reproduce your original graphics, screen captures, tables and cross-references within your newly-translated documentation.

Preserving your original layout, formatting and graphics

When we receive your original files, our team firstly converts them into a translator-friendly format. Once the translation is complete, and the files are converted back into their original format, our DTP specialists begin their work. The translated text is professionally formatted to match the source material. DTP and graphics creation tools are used to recreate the original layout and graphics.

We can also capture localized screenshots of your software and include them in your documentation. Sometimes these have to be created from scratch using your original files. We can do it.

Finally, the completed files are returned to you with the same layout as the originals.

• DTP tools: Microsoft Office, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe PageMaker, Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress, Corel Draw, Interleaf and Macromedia Freehand.

• Graphics tools: Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

• Screenshooting: Snagit and HyperSnap.
