What are the rates of pay for translation and revising?
Translation work is usually paid per source word. The amount is negotiable.
Revising work is usually paid per source word, or per hour. We would normally expect about 1500 words to be revised per hour.
Where can I complete a questionnaire to register my interest in becoming one of CPSL’s freelance resources?

How do translation discounts, created by the use of translation memory systems, affect how much I will be paid?
You will be paid in full for the content that requires full translation and, where translation memory systems are used, discounts will be applied to the cost of translation, in accordance with an agreed scale of payment. For 100% matches, ‘fuzzies’, and repetitions, you will be paid at a discounted rate, which reflects the reduced workload.
Do I need a university degree or recommendation letter to become one of CPSL’s freelance resources?
Neither a degree nor a recommendation letter is compulsory. They are only a requirement for those freelance resources who want to collaborate in tenders.
Interpreters must send reference letters or referee contact details from at least two clients.
How can I check and validate the amounts of my invoices to CPSL?
CPSL Meeting Point, our project information tool, can be used to check and validate the amount of work you have done for CPSL and the amounts for which you can invoice.
How do I connect to CPSL Meeting Point?
On the CPSL website home page, click on the Meeting Point logo in the right-hand menu. Alternatively, you can go to the Technology section and click on Meeting Point. You can reach the Meeting Point login page from there.
Enter your login name and password, as shown on your Purchase Order (PO). If your PO does not include a login name or password, please contact our vendor management department for assistance.
When should I invoice CPSL?
Generally you should invoice CPSL once per month, at the end of the month. Your invoice should include your fees for all of the month’s assignments. Should you prefer to include two or more months’ fees on a single invoice, your invoice must expressly indicate for which months you are billing.
How should I send my invoice to CPSL?
Please send your invoices via email to the email address found in our terms of collaboration agreement. Invoices should be sent within the first five days of the month following the period for which you are billing.
What methods of payment will CPSL use to settle my invoice?
Your invoices will either be paid by bank transfer or via PayPal.
Do I need to show CPSL my tax certificate?
A tax certificate is only required from freelance resources that are residents of Spain. A tax certificate can be obtained from the Agencia Estatal de Administración Tributaria.
