The EU is aiming for climate neutrality by 2050, which will require the translation of official documents. Are you ready?
The EU is seeking to be climate neutral by 2050, and to get there, it has a plan: the European Green Deal. The Green Deal is one of the six European Commission priorities for 2019‑2024. The plan is to “transform the EU into a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy”.
The Green Deal Industrial Plan
The Green Deal Industrial Plan is a part of the Green Deal. This plan is based on four pillars:
- A predictable and simplified regulatory environment,
- Faster access to funding,
- Enhancing skills, and
- Open trade for resilient supply chains. To deliver the Green Deal, the European Commission is establishing and has established legislation such as the “Fit for 55” legislation.
The “Fit for 55” legislation is designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the EU by the end of this decade. The “Fit” in its name comes from the idea of making all sectors of the EU economy fit for meeting the challenge. And of course, part of this “fitness” means being competitive, while also becoming greener and more digital.
Some key figures regulated to the European Green Deal:
- The first climate-neutral continent by 2050
- 55% less greenhouse gas emissions by 2030
- 3 billion additional trees planted by 2030
- One third of the €1.8 trillion from the NextGenerationEU Recovery Plan and the EU’s seven-year budget will finance the Green Deal
How does a language services provider and the translation of official documents fit within the Green Deal?
To compete in a market, a company has to know that market’s language. And considering the myriad of languages in the EU, which language is the right one for each market? That’s where a provider of professional language services such as CPSL comes into play. Whether you need translation services for official documentation, legal documentation, marketing information, or advertising, the right words in the right place can make all the difference when it comes to winning an RFP, winning over a new customer, or ensuring that employees are well informed and well trained. You can find additional information in CPSL’s blog on energy.
Companies that are seeking to be modern, resource-efficient, and competitive, just like the Green Deal’s vision of the EU, need effective communication with partners, customers, employees, and the public. This is especially true for multinationals operating in global markets with a diversity of languages:
- CPSL can help you ensure that everyone is on the right page in the new regulatory environment with its Translation services.

According to the European Industrial Strategy published in March 2020, which is still valid and in progress, “European industry is diverse, with different sizes, risks, and needs. It needs targeted solutions, not a one-size-fits-all approach”.
CPSL can help you target those solutions. CPSL is a certified translation company with over 60 years of experience providing language solutions and walking with our customers every step of the way.
